About Dr Ye Chen

Dr. Chen is a specialist ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) with fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery (a subspecialty of ophthalmology devoted to the treatment of eyelid, lacrimal, socket and orbital conditions). He is also an experienced cataract surgeon.
Graduating a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Melbourne University Dr Ye Chen went on to complete an internship at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship at the University of Oxford, England, where he obtained a DPhil in Medical Science.
Dr Ye Chen continued his training in ophthalmology and cataract surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and furthered his sub-specialty fellowship in Adelaide, Japan and Korea, where he gained considerable experience in the treatment of eyelid, lacrimal and orbital disorders.
Dr Chen speaks fluent English, Mandarin (普通话) and Shanghainese (上海话).
