Cosmetic Treatments
Cosmetic treatments involve the use of a neurotoxin (a protein produced by a type of bacteria), and is widely used in medicine for many conditions and has an excellent safety profile with no known long term side effects. The treatment works by paralysing the muscle around the eye, and results generally last up to 2 months.
What is involved in the treatment?
The placement, and the number of treatments needed, depends on the condition being treated and the individual’s previous response to treatment. The treatment is relatively painless. It can take a few treatments, as the response can vary between visits.
What are the risks of this treatment?
The most common side effects are headache, drooping of the eyelids (ptosis) and dry eyes.
